About Journal
Journal of Regional History is an annual journal and has been publishing successfully since
1980 by Department of History, Guru Nanak Dev University. The Journal is being published
under New Series since 1993. The Journal acquired ISSN No. 0972-3781 in 2001. Since 2009,
it has become peer-reviewed Journal, publishing articles, review articles and book reviews.
The prime objective of the Journal is to encourage research of regional history covering the
North-Western India in general and Punjab in particular with a view to integrate it in larger
canvas of Indian History. It has been an endeavor on the part of the Department of History to
provide a forum both to the teaching faculty and research students of the region to publish their
work.
The contributors to the Journal include regional, national and international scholars
considering its repute and wide circulation. From time to time Journal publishes the list of
research carried by the Department in the form of books, research projects, Ph.D. Theses and M.
Phil Dissertations.
